Soccer Fail

So I took Dylan out to the soccer fields today. He got a new pair of cleats and was really excited to try them out. But, it turns out the day was pretty dismal and rainy, so he changed his mind about playing soccer. Then changed it again about wanting to go home... then changed it again. And it all ended up in a giant tantrum. He was screaming so loud and long that as we finally drove away, I saw some person standing at the opposite edge of the highway, looking in our direction. The place was completely deserted otherwise. I think the person thought someone was being murdered. Chalk that one up to another frustrating day!

Bakery Goodness

I made chocolate cake and cupcakes last Saturday. I tried out some fun things with melted chocolate for the top of the chocolate cake from Maida Heatter's cookbook. The kumquats were just too beautiful.
